Sesquialtera is a fanfare with 6 artists from the Montreal music scene. With original work composed by Aurelién Tomasi, the band offers a unique repertoire, both festive and profound, presented as eclectic and colorful music. 

With their first release “c’est ce qui altéra”, Sesquialtera presents an entirely instrumental work, commenting metaphorically on time that flies from youth (“L’insouciante”, “de la balançoire”) to old-age (“à la chaise berçante”, “c’est ce qui altéra”). 

Sesquialtera has already played at various prestigious festivals, such as Montreal Jazz Fest and Completement Cirque. The group offers inside, outside and deambulatory shows and work on a pluridisciplinary project called “Les Çédilles”, that brings together music, circus, and dance. With the warmth of brass instruments and the energy of the drums, Sesquialtera offers joyful music that will help the audience deal with variable emotions.
