Yasmin Williams
Don't just take our word for it – The Washington Post, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and others have all been singing Yasmin's praises with her most recent release, Urban Driftwood.
Yasmin Williams is a self-taught acoustic fingerstyle guitarist with an unorthodox, modern style of playing. Her music has been described as refreshing, relaxing, and unique – some of the most imaginative guitar music out today. She has won awards from the Rolling Stones Young Gun competition, New York University's Ultra Violet Live talent show and the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest among others. Her first album, Unwind, charted highly on the major streaming services and her second album, Urban Driftwood, released in January, has earned praise from major publications including Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, No Depression, Bandcamp, and Paste Magazine. She has been featured on NPR’s Weekend Edition, Night Owl, and All Songs Considered; Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour; WUSA9 TV; New Sounds Soundcheck Podcast; and in Acoustic Guitar and Vintage Guitar magazines. We are thrilled to have Yasmin sharing her awesome talents with Riverland Collective.
